Frequently Asked Questions

How can I finance my solar system?

To finance your Innogen solar electricity system there are two options available to you- self-financing (cash), or by credit through SigniaGlobe Financial Inc, Carilend or any personal financial lending institution of choice. With self-financing, a down payment of 50% is required after signing applications and contracts. A further 40% is paid after the physical installation of the PV system is complete, and the remaining 10% after all necessary inspections have been conducted. With credit financing, once approved by the loan officers, the client makes monthly payments based on the size system which they will be installed with.

What happens to my system when the electricity goes off?

As Innogen PV systems are grid-connected, when the utility grid shuts off, your system too will be shut off until the utility grid is re-energized. However with our Off Grid systems your electricity remains on!

If my electricity usage increases, can I upgrade my system?

Yes, Innogen PV systems are modular and can therefore be expanded to meet your energy usage.

How soon after the installation is completed will I see the results of my investment?

After the physical installation of the PV systems, the Government Electrical Engineering Department (GEED) and Barbados Light and Power (BL&P) conduct mandatory inspections. Providing that these tests are successful, the system will function as promised between 4-6 weeks after installation.

How much electricity does the solar system generate?

The output of a solar system depends on the size system installed to meet your energy usage within your home or business. A 1kW system produces on average $60 worth of electricity per month, a 2kW, $120 and so on.
